About Grizzly Guard Station Interpretive Site

This recreation site is temporarily closed (no services provided) to encourage safe social distancing. The MBRTB continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and evaluate potential impacts and adjustments to recreation sites. Please remember to review current recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and focus on recreating safely while protecting yourself, Forest Service employees and our volunteers. Simple panels describe life at this historic ranger station and various aspects of natural history of the area. It is located in the Mount Zirkel/Park Range Area and is managed by the Parks Ranger District.

How to Get There

From Walden: Take Hwy 14 west for approximately 11 miles to Hebron. Turn right on County Road 24 driving west. Follow County Road 24 as it forks left and then right at intersections with County Roads 1 and 5. After approximately 10 miles the road becomes Forest Road 60 and you arrive at the Grizzly Guard Station Interpretive Site.
