Overview The secluded Sailors Haven Cottage provides visitors with a unique Fire Island experience. Just a short walk from the beach, the nearby town of Cherry Grove, and the globally rare Sunken Forest, the Sailors Haven House provides for a sensational and rustic getaway. The Sailors Haven House is a small single bedroom, single bathroom cottage that can house 2-4 guests comfortably and requires at least a 6 night stay. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Fire Island National Seashore visitors are bound to enjoy this relaxing stay.Off-Peak Season OpportunitiesDuring periods of lower demand, shorter stays may be accommodated on a limited, case-by-case basis. How to Get There
Accessing the Sailors Haven Cottage is easy, but careful preparation will help your trip run smoothly. Visitors can catch a Ferry from Sayville on Long Island over to Sailors Haven. Once at Sailors Haven, follow the main walk South toward the public bathroom facility. Just after the bathroom head east on the concrete trail that bisects the main walkway. Follow that walkway until you reach another boardwalk trail on the right. Follow the second boardwalk trail around the corner until you come upon the fenced in house on the right side of the trail. Ferry access is also available from the opposite direction at Cherry Grove. Sayville Ferry Terminal is located at 41 River Rd in Sayville, New York, 11782. By Train: Take the LIRR to Sayville Station. Take a shuttle or taxi to the Sayville ferry. Additional information is available here.
