About SANTIAM FLATS CAMPGROUND

Overview Santiam Flats Campground provides 31 campsites, 26 single and 5 double, that can accommodate trailers up to 30 feet in length. Campground is now fully reservable. First come first serve is only available if no prior reservation has been made and only offered one night at a time. All sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Water is provided via individual faucet risers located throughout the campground. There are three single-vault toilets located in accessible locations throughout the campground. Trash receptacles are available in the campground. There is No Day Use area in this campground.Campfires allowed until and unless otherwise posted. Fire bans are common during summer months. Please plan accordingly.Reservations for this site can be made up to 6 months in advance of arrival date by reserving online at RECREATION.GOV or by calling 877-444-6777.Recreation There is no Day Use availble in this campground. Sailing, boating, water skiing and fishing are all excellent options for enjoying Detroit Lake. Catfish, rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon are among the most common species found in the lake.Several hiking trails dot the area, including Stahlman Point Trail, which offers beautiful vistas of Detroit Lake and the surrounding area. The Hoover Nature Trail is an accessible, short footpath that delights many campers.The Willamette National Forest has about 1,700 miles of trail. While many are in wilderness areas, a number of trails are low-elevation, easy-access trails for year-round hiking. Facilities Sites have picnic tables, grills and easy access to the vault toilets. Drinking water spigots are spread throughout the campground. Most campsites offer views of the lake. Santiam Flats does not have a boat launch ramp. Some of the sites are adjacent to the shoreline and mooring is allowed for paying campers only. There is no Day Use availble.
