About This Is the Place Heritage Park

Journey back in time at This Is The Place Heritage Park, a collection of more than 50 historic homes and buildings brought to life by historical interpreters. There are also "trains" touring the park, the Mormon Battallion Museum, a gallery, a Native Merican Village, interactive blacksmith, tinsmith and saddle maker exhibits and other hands-on and engaging sites around the park. Visit This Is The Place Monument, which marks the end of the 1,300-mile Mormon trail.

How to Get There

Head east (toward the mountains) on 800 South in Salt Lake City. 800 South turns into Sunnyside Avenue. Entrance is on the left across the street from Utah's Hogle Zoo. 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily Limited programming on Sundays.
