The nearly 3,000-acre reservoir has predictable winds for excellent water sports and five species of sport fish. After a day on the water, camp under the night sky at one of the several campgrounds, all with spectacular views of nearby Mount Timpanogos. Deer Creek Trail is a nonmotorized trail tracing the western hillside of the reservoir open to mountain biking, horses and hiking. Deer Creek Reservoir is about 52 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Head east on I-80 then turn south on U.S. 40 exit 146. In Heber City, take the fork west on U.S. 189.
